Alder catkins wait…
for the wind to pollinate –
or an ambling bee!

Lonely heart pounding!
my blood like a river –

Salt sprinkles –
seagulls scatter
order the fisherman’s platter

Their team must have scored!
Seagulls cheer — a fever pitch –
rising from the shore…

Pushed to endurance!
temple candles become bombs –
Pureland bathes in blood

New life drawn from old
leaves — once buds — soon turn to soil…
birds pick through for seed

Unstruck match
burning –
hands with no form
holding –
the night sky turns to ash…

Hundreds of circles
play upon a swelling stream –
budding branches lean.

Before the birds –
a winter den flickers pink
alert and thinking

A soot tanned hand cups –
stirring steam rises from first meal
indigo skies come sniffing.

As eyes blink –
night submits
giving trees their silhouette

There –
in the dawning of day
trees become shadows

At first –
night skies loom
blue royal stars

Then… !
eastern light
drawing back evening drapes
fires into form!

Still, no colour
all pauses –
breathing…

Display contours
a line of firelight
joining southeast halos.

Fortified backbone
pulsing radiantly –
stretches the standing air.

Crouching sounds twitch their tales
giggling Earthworms wiggle — !
hot water running.
